Reading books

A reminder please that reading books and reading diaries need to be kept in your child’s bookbag and brought to school every day.  This is so we can read with your child  as much as we can and change their books.

Book changes will take place on Monday and Thursday.

Rushall Farm

We all enjoyed our trip to Rushall Farm and Ella’s Kitchen.  We learned all about the different animals and the crops they grow at the farm.  We all enjoyed the tractor ride to the barn for lunch.  In the afternoon we visited Ella’s Kitchen.  Here we learned about the different plants and food that is grown.  We did some food tasting and liked digging for worms.  Take a look at some of our photos.

Phonics Workshops

Thank you to all the parents who attended our Phonics workshops this week.  The children enjoyed having you in school and I hope that you found the workshops useful and gave you ideas in ways to help your child at home with Phonics.

Reading books

All children now have a reading book and a reading diary.  Please listen to your child read as often as possible.  Children should read the same book at least twice, once for decoding, the second to aid with fluency and comprehension.  Apologies but reading days have already been changed due to new timetabling.  All children in RK will now read on a Thursday, and change books on a Monday.  Please keep reading book and reading diary in the bookbag and bring to school everyday so we can hear your child read at any available time throughout the week.

Forest School

Last week, we all enjoyed going into the Forest School area.  We learned about all the rules we have to follow and the boundaries that we have to stay in.  It was lots of fun and we can’t wait to go back.

If your child has any wellies that you don’t mind leaving in school, please bring them in so children can change into them.

Hello world!

Welcome to Park Lane Blogs. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start blogging!

A few quick tips before you delete this automated blog post:

  • Make sure your first post is an exciting and engaging one!
  • Ask your children what they think of the blog and what they would like to see on it. Act on their recommendations.
  • Make sure your blog demonstrates to your children how much you personally love learning. Your example will be powerful.
  • Celebrate your children’s achievements and consider them the primary audience for this blog.
  • Use hyperlinks to connect your children with content from other classes around your school, other websites and other schools around the globe.

Commit these tips to memory and then delete them. They will self-destruct anyway if this blog exhibits any signs of being boring.

This blog will be what you make it. Enjoy!
